<image:title>Philosophy - Life can be both messy and beautiful. Life also brings so many opportunities to dive deeper, to transform, and to learn how to love ourselves and others with open hearts. I believe that we all deserve a space to let our feelings be felt. We all deserve to have our experiences witnessed and held with compassion and kindness. My hope is that the therapeutic relationship is a healing one and that the space we create together supports growth and curiosity. Any type of transformation takes courage - courage to examine our woundedness, courage to embrace our vulnerability and our strength, and courage to stay aware in the present moment. I have learned from both my teachers and my clients that stepping into our courage creates space for deeper connection to ourselves and others. My approach to this work is rooted in compassion and human-to-human connection. I believe that authentic connection supports our capacity to grow and change. Connection allows our bodies to soften and our physical and emotional experiences to be explored and integrated. I welcome and affirm people of all gender/sexual identities, faith perspectives, and cultural backgrounds.</image:title>

      <image:title>About</image:title>
<image:caption>My work is grounded in an integrated wellness approach that emphasizes development, relational-cultural theory, and body-centered practice. I have had the honor of supporting clients through a variety of concerns and difficulties including childhood and adult trauma, relationship issues, parenting and co-parenting struggles, grief and loss, anxiety, depression, and life transitions. I am passionate about helping people look beneath the surface - digging down deep to the roots. My work is heart-centered, supporting a person’s capacity to bear witness to their own experience. This often begins in the body. I incorporate body-centered practices in much of my work to awaken the senses and support the fullest expression of one’s truth. My background includes work in administration, crisis response, clinical practice, and program development. I served as Co-Director of Project Safe, Vanderbilt’s Center for Sexual Violence Prevention and Response, for seven years before transitioning to a primary clinical role at Oasis Center, one of the nation’s leading youth-serving organizations. Following my time at Oasis Center, I worked as a therapist at a dual diagnosis mental health and addiction treatment program in Nashville. I have consulted on numerous projects both within Tennessee and across the country related to trauma informed care, crisis response and stabilization, and primary prevention services. In addition, I have authored two curricula on girl-centered practice for the Delores Barr Weaver Policy Center in Jacksonville, Florida. I received both a B.A. in Anthropology and a M.Ed. in Human Development Counseling from Vanderbilt University. I have completed advanced training in body-centered psychotherapy, mindfulness based practices, and the treatment of trauma. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor - Mental Health Service Provider in the state of Tennessee, National Certified Counselor, and Certified Clinical Trauma Professional.</image:caption>
